Jason Grant Shela, MBE

DIRECTOR, SUNRISE GLOBAL SOCIAL IMPACT

Jason serves as a Director of the Sunrise Global Social Impact division. He focuses on social entrepreneurial organizations and initiatives in the fields of EduTech, Media, Sports, Specialty Manufacturing and Agriculture. He brings over 30 years of diversified international experience in Trading, Risk Management, Alternative Asset Management, Strategic Consulting, Manufacturing Industry, Media & Social Impact Programming, Sports Education, Entertainment & Media, Management & Operations. He worked for Societe Generale in London and ABN AMRO in New York and then founded his own strategic consultancy. Jason conducted pioneering research in the field of weather risk, served as an advisor to the World Bank and Agriculture & Reinsurance markets. He has also advised Middle-Market companies, Schools and Non-Profits. He has an extensive sports background, having played for Wasps, Fulham RLFC, Middlesex County & Great Britain Maccabiah Team in Rugby and New York Select in Soccer. He founded the British Soccer Academy, has coached Hunter MS teams to multiple New York City Championships and serves as Director of Athletic Education for the Elephant Soccer Club of Harlem. In the Entertainment sphere, Jason has written, produced and directed theatrical productions, audio productions and written original music for Fox Sports TV. He formerly served in the Royal Air Force Cadet Corps. He holds MA and BBA academic degrees. Jason was awarded the MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the 2019 New Year’s Honor’s List from her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for his services to youth soccer education and pioneering work creating programs for youth with disabilities.
